Remarkable You

Tonight, I am writing this post with a heavy heart. Two dear friends lost their loved one.   I created this card with the Remarkable You stamp set because that is definitely what Carl was, Remarkable!  Carl was a husband, father, uncle, and a friend to many.  He lived life with a smile and a joke.  His last year and a half was one lived with dignity, faith, love, and strength.  He was surrounded by family that he loved as he drew his last breath.
Create this card to have on hand for those you are sharing a celebration of life for.  The flower is so beautiful think of other sentiments you want to use with it.  Visit my site at www.kris.stampinup.net to pick up yours!

Tri-Fold With Circle

A Huge Shout out to my Stampin' Up! demonstrator friend for the directions to this amazing card!  IT is so simple to put together and even more fun to give away!  Pick your colors or stay with a white card using vellum and one bold color to make the flowers POP!

1. Start with a  cardbase that is 4 1⁄4” x 11”. Score & fold on the long side at 4 1⁄4” and 8 1⁄2”.
2. With a 2” circle punch, insert all the way on the 8 1⁄2” fold line and punch out. Save this circle as you will be using it later
3. Cut a 4” x 4” piece of the white background designer series paper (DSP). Adhere to the lower part of the card with snail adhesive. Cut a 4” x 2 1⁄4” complimentary piece of the designer series paper and adhere over the top portion taking care to avoid putting the snail adhesive over the cut out area from the
punch.
4. Now with card open, use the 2” circle punch to punch out the DSP that covered up half of the hole.
5. Stamp greeting of your choice on Whisper White cardstock  and punch out with 1 3⁄4” circle punch. Adhere to the 2” circle that you punched out in step #2
6. Adhere this circle to the card. I suggest using Fast Fuse or a stronger adhesive. The easiest way to adhere this circle to the card in the correct position is to have the
card closed and adhere through the bottom half of the circle as shown.

7. Using Flower Flair thinlits, cut flowers of your choice to adorn outside of card as shown. Use Iced Rhinestones to accent centers of flowers.
8. Adhere a 4” x 4” piece of Whisper White cardstock to the inside of the card. Decorate with die cuts, stamped images and/or a piece of designer series paper.
9. Have fun using the special fold design over and over again with Stampin’ Up!’s 2 sided designer series paper. This card design is perfect for that! Imagine the smile on the face of the card recipient when they not only get a hand stamped card but, a card with a special fold like this!

Sheltering Tree

Today, I was able to spend time with a true friend.  We watched a watched a great movie, The Passion, crafted, and celebrated our birthdays.  We have done this for the last 25+ years!  She has definitely "loves me at all times", as the stamp set, Banner Blessings states.  I paired this saying with the sheltering tree.  Do you like the shadow effect?  It is quite simple to recreate.  First, I stamped the tree in Early Espresso and then turned the stamp upside down and at a slight angle and stamped the tree at the bottom with out re-inking.  This technique is called stamping off.  I used the small leaves in the set and stamped them off using early espresso.  I'm working on a video to go along with this blog. Stay Tuned!
Ok friends, here it is:  https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=pnv4lc1yWk0

Birthday Blossom

April Showers bring my favorite thing... FLOWERS!  It also brings my birthday.  Tonight I created a card using my favorite Stampin' Up! flower punch, Pansy and my favorite color, purple.  It compliments the Birthday Blossoms set so well, don't you think?  Look at the detail in the flowers and leaves.  Yes, it does have a "shimmerific" accent to the petals because I used the clear Wink of Stella!

Join me on April 15th @ 4:30 PM or April 16th @ 10:30AM to create this card!  RSVP @ www.kris.stampinup.net

DIY Stamping on Candles

Here is a fun way to make your candles match your decor or the season.  Take any size candle you want.  I have only tried this with white candles.  Measure the height and circumference of the candle and cut a piece of white tissue paper.  Stamp any image and any color on tissue paper.  For the two candles pictured I used Blackberry Bliss and Tangerine Tango with the Gardens in Bloom stamp set and Garden green with Tempting Turquoise to accent, the dragonfly from Awesomely Artistic and the ferns in Butterfly Basics.

Specialty Fold Card

Thanks for stopping by my blog.  Last month one of my classes was cards with special folds.  I hand just come from a up line meeting (Meeting with other Stampin' Up! demonstrators) and learned how to make this one.  It's called a Double Fold Out.

1. 4 1⁄4” x 12” cardstock base. Score on the long side at 1 5/8”, 3 1⁄4”, 8 3⁄4”, and 10 3/8”.
2. Cut  strips 1 3/8” x 4” and adhere with snail to side panels.
3. Cut a 4 1/4” x 4 1⁄4” piece cardstock. Adhere a 4” x 4” piece of patterned paper to this piece.
Adhere this piece to the left side panel with Fast Fuse so that it is centered on the front of the card as
    shown in the sample above.
4. Adhere a strip of  1⁄2” x 4” with snail to the front panel as shown.
5. Cut a 5 1⁄4” x 4” piece of  cardstock and adhere to the inside. Adorn with a 3/8” x 5 1⁄4” strip of
    patterned paper.

My class featured the Flower Flair Thinlits and Flower Patch Stamp Set, along with English Garden Designer Series Paper.  All of these items are available in the Stampin' Up! annual catalog.

Rose Garden

Spring is here and my roses are starting to wake up.  While I wait for their full beauty to come into full bloom, I'm going to play with the Rose Garden Thinlits.  Two of my friends designed this amazing card.  They used the two Whisper White roses cut from the Big Shot with the Rose Garden thinlit and wrapped them around a 4 1/4 " x 5 1/2" piece of basic black card stock.

Note how the 4" x 5 1/4" Real red frames the basic black 3 3/4" x 5" card.  They used a corner rounder to soften the edges.  Beautiful!  Check out my card class where is and other techniques will feature this amazingly, beautiful set!  www.kris.stampinup.net
